Italy, then Mexico, then Byron.
The building was built by hand after a year on the road: the rendered walls and warm timber of a Tuscan villa, the curved parapet and deep verandah posts of a Mexican mission house.
It was never designed as an office.
That is the point. Plywood desks built in place, a hardwood feature wall, a cane lounge somebody’s grandmother owned, and a courtyard for lunch and Friday drinks. Dogs welcome.
