What is a coworking space?
A shared office where freelancers, founders and remote workers from different companies work alongside each other. Ours happens to be a house: desks, a long table, a lounge and a courtyard.
What are the benefits of coworking?
Company, a proper desk, fast internet and a reason to leave the house. You also get the people: members swap work, share lunch and turn up to each other’s events.
Who uses a coworking space?
Freelancers, startups, remote workers and small businesses, and sometimes bigger companies that want a desk in Byron for their people.
Why Chalet Byron?
A hand-built house in the Byron Bay industrial estate, a community of people who know each other’s names, fast wifi, two Zoom rooms, an end-of-trip shower and printing with Dolphin Print around the corner. And it’s open to members 24/7.
Membership and pricing
What memberships do you offer?
Two. A shared desk is $220 a month, and a full-time dedicated desk is $440 a month. Dedicated desks are full at the moment, so there’s a waitlist. Both include the Zoom rooms and 24/7 access; we just ask that you keep the noise down after hours.

Can I try it first?
Yes. There are no day passes, but you can come in and work at the long table for half a day to see how you like the space, then join the waitlist. Byron Bay is always changing, and the Chalet is about meeting new and interesting people.

Facilities and amenities
What’s included?
Fast wifi, your desk or a seat at the long table, two Zoom rooms, a kitchen with coffee and tea, the lounge, the courtyard and an end-of-trip shower. Printing is done by our partners at Dolphin Print around the corner. Dogs are welcome. We also partner with Surunder for breathwork, Social Remedy for gym and recovery, and Other Side for coffee.
Can I use the meeting rooms?
Yes. We have two Zoom rooms, set up for online meetings only. They’re included in membership, and members get an access code that changes every month. Non-members can book one for $30.
Is there a community?
Yes. Friday drinks in the courtyard, weekend community events, member evenings and workshops, many of them run with our events partner Piccante.
Can I host an event here?
Yes. The house can be hired on weekends for up to 50 people across the OG Room, the Garage, the Creative Space and the courtyard. The Creative Space seats 15, and the courtyard takes 50 for an activation, weather and availability permitting. Price on enquiry.
